Draw - Princes Pot Round 2. PGA. Sat 3rd May.

This Saturday, 3rd May, the suspense ramps up with Round 2 of the Princes Pot!

Mr. Sandy Grant is currently basking in a comfortable 4-point lead at the summit—though with seven hungry contenders within 5 points, he’d be wise to keep one eye on the leaderboard and the other firmly on his golf ball (and maybe a third on his rivals, just in case). The big-hitting Mr. McGill is lurking in the shadows, ready to launch a drive that could wake the neighbours, while the ever-flamboyant Mr. Wallace—still basking in the glory of his hole-in-one on the 6th—could flip the script at any moment. Mr. Grant will need to bring his A-game, his B-game, and perhaps a rabbit’s foot if he wants to claim the crown. And let’s not forget the likes of Messrs Nicolson, Dickson (both Kevin and Jonnie!), Laing, and our most recent victor, Wadsworth—all itching to climb to the top and claim the glory.

But wait! Could a dark horse come charging from the rear? After his own hole-in-one on Queen’s, Mr. Marshall sits just 9 points back—could he stage the comeback of the season and run off with the Pot?

There are still plenty of spots left for anyone feeling lucky, plucky, or simply in need of a good walk spoiled. If you fancy joining the mayhem, please contact Iain or Tariq to be added to the draw.

History:

The Princes Pot Trophy first awarded in 1986: Before the development of the PGA Centenary golf course Dun Whinny played some medals on the Glendevon Course and it was at the suggestion of John Rankin that at least two of the medals on the Glendevon course be moved to the Princes Course and he purchased a small trophy to be awarded to the best two round Stableford aggregate on the Princes Course. At that time the princes Course was 18 holes in length which then became known as the Wee Course and now known as the PGA Academy Course and is only 9 holes of Par 3 golf. The change came about when a substantial portion of the Princes Course was lost to the formation of what is now the PGA Centenary Course. In 1999 following approval from John Rankin the Princes Pot is now played as two rounds of Stableford Golf on the PGA Centenary Course.
