Thank You & UAE Trip 2026.

I would like to begin by expressing my heartfelt gratitude to my good friend, Christian Stewart. His commitment, positivity, and unwavering support throughout the Gleneagles Golf Epic were invaluable, and sharing the challenge of playing 63 holes in a single day alongside him was both a privilege and a joy. His near hole-in-one on the PGA will remain one of the standout moments of the day.

I am deeply humbled to share that, together with the generosity of friends, family, and fellow members, we successfully raised £4,600 in support of Breast Cancer Now. With Gift Aid included, this brings our total to an outstanding £5,650. These funds will contribute towards vital research and support services for those affected by breast cancer, and I am truly grateful to everyone who made a donation.

The day itself was filled with memorable moments, each made special by the wonderful people who joined us. Andrew McGill and David C Watt brought laughter and encouragement on the PGA; young Robert Stewart delivered a flawless performance on the King’s Course, finding every fairway with remarkable consistency; and on the Queen’s Course, Mr and Mrs Marshall showcased teamwork at its best during our scramble round, helping us achieve a remarkable score of 63. As evening fell, Colin Cameron and Daley Smith ensured we completed our challenge under the lights on the Wee Course. A particularly proud moment for me was watching my son, Qasim Ali, step in on the King’s and Queen’s and finish in style with a 315-yard drive down the 18th on the Queen’s.

To my fellow members of the Dun Whinny Golf Club, dear friends, and family, I extend my sincerest thanks. Your collective encouragement, good humour, and generosity transformed what was undoubtedly a demanding challenge into an inspiring and uplifting experience.

Finally, my warm appreciation goes to the outstanding team at Gleneagles. Their support, professionalism, and hospitality ensured the success of the day and created memories that will last a lifetime.

This has been a remarkable journey, reminding us all of the power of community and shared purpose. Together, we not only celebrated the game of golf but also took meaningful steps towards supporting an incredibly important cause.

I’m excited to announce that following the success of our incredible 2025 UAE trip, plans are already underway for our next adventure in 2026. This promises to be another unforgettable week of top-class golf, sunshine, camaraderie, and a few stories that will no doubt last the test of time.

We’ll be teeing off at some of the finest courses in Abu Dhabi and Dubai:

• Monday – Yas Links
  A world-class course and home to the HSBC Championship. Nothing beats starting the week with Yas’ rolling fairways and incredible sea views.

• Tuesday – Saadiyat Island Golf Club
  Designed by Gary Player, this stunning course lies against the backdrop of the Arabian Gulf and its pristine beaches. An absolute gem.

• Wednesday – The Els Club
  Designed by Ernie Els, this challenging course features fast greens and deep bunkers. A true test that demands precision and patience.

• Thursday – Al Zorah Golf & Yacht Club
  A breathtaking Ajman layout that combines mangroves, wildlife, and wide fairways. A favorite from the last trip and one not to be missed.

• Friday – Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club
  A beautifully manicured course with iconic finishing holes along Dubai Creek. A fitting finale that combines beauty with challenge.

✈️ Travel & Accommodation

We’ll set off from Edinburgh and stay in premium hotels across Abu Dhabi and Dubai, chosen for their comfort, location, and hospitality. In addition to the golf, we’ll be enjoying fine dining, rooftop terraces, and plenty of time to relax together after each round.

🍹 Beyond the Course

Every evening we’ll gather for dinners, drinks, and laughs – because a golf trip should be just as enjoyable off the course as it is on it.
