Silverware Recall: Return of Trophies.

With the competitive season drawing toward its traditional conclusion and the dark autumn nights rolling in across the Perthshire hills, preparations are officially underway for the grandest highlight on the Dun Whinny social calendar: the Annual Gala Prize Giving Ball in November.

Before the champagne can be uncorked, the black ties adjusted, and the accomplishments of our 2026 champions properly celebrated, there is the small but vital matter of the club silverware.

All members who currently have custody of club trophies from the 2025 season—or earlier competitions—are kindly requested to polish off the fingerprints and return them to the Gleneagles bag storage area as soon as possible.

Returning the trophies promptly ensures our committee can complete the inventory, dispatch them for professional engraving, and arrange an appropriately glittering display table for the big night.

Whether your mantelpiece has been graced by one of the historic cups, a summer shield, or Lord Rollo’s silver inkstand, please deposit your silverware with the bag storage team at your earliest opportunity. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated in making this year’s Gala Ball a roaring success!
