Senior Golfers' Society vs Dun Whinny

On Thursday, May 4th, a match was held between the Senior Golfers' Society and Dun Whinny Golf Club at what will be the new biannual location - Luffness New Golf Club.

After a warm welcome in the clubhouse, the players enjoyed a delightful three-course lunch with drinks before proceeding to the golf course to commence play.

The close scores might have suggested a more even outcome with all but one match lasting until at least the 17th hole. However, the Senior Golfers' Society secured a resounding success taking the overall match with a score of 5-1.

Although rain did not hinder the event, the wind was a challenge, as noted by Jim Crawford, who remarked that it was "a different kind of wind that the Dun Whinny players were not accustomed to”.

With wind speeds reaching approximately 18 miles per hour and gusts of nearly 30 mph, the home advantage was undoubtedly a contributing factor.

We pass on our appreciation for the hospitality extended by the Senior Golfer’s Society and all staff at Luffness New Golf Club. Dun Whinny look forward to welcoming you back to Gleneagles for the next match.
