Result - Princes Pot Round 2. PGA. Sat 2nd May

The 2026 Prince’s Pot has reached its conclusion, and after a fortnight of battling the tactical complexities of the PGA Centenary, we have a champion who truly mastered the art of consistency. Played under an overcast sky with a light breeze that occasionally whispered of trouble, the afternoon was a classic contest of nerves and score-carding.

Wallace Wears the Crown

A huge congratulations to our Overall Winner, Allister Wallace, who secured the title with a formidable combined total of 71 points.

Allister’s victory was built on the sturdiest of foundations. After keeping himself firmly in the mix with a gritty 33 points in the first round, he returned today to fire a fantastic 38 points (nett 69). In a format where the course usually waits for you to make a mistake, Allister simply didn't blink. Navigating 36 holes on this championship layout without a major derailment is a fantastic achievement. Allister, the "Pot" is headed to your trophy cabinet!

The Table of Honor – Overall Top 5

1 Allister Wallace 33 + 38 = 71

2 Billy Z McNeill 31 + 36 = 67

3 Jonathan Fletcher 33 + 33 = 66

4 Thomas McCulloch 30 + 34 = 64

5 Scott Williamson 32 + 28 = 60

(Note: Club Champion David Logie opted to sit out the second round, presumably giving the rest of the field a fighting chance!)

Abercrombie’s PGA Masterclass

While Wallace took the aggregate glory, the daily headlines belong to David Abercrombie. He produced a round of the highest order, carding a spectacular 43 points. It was a display of golf that left the rest of the field in awe (and slightly suspicious of what he had for breakfast). Had David managed a Round 1 entry, we might have been looking at a landslide victory. As it is, he takes the Round 2 crown and the unofficial title of "Man Most Likely to Benefit from a Handicap Review."

Notable Mentions & Bandit Diaries

  • Billy Z McNeill: Securing the runner-up spot overall with 67 points, Billy’s round today was the stuff of legend. Despite recording three zeroes on his card, he still managed to shoot a nett 71 (36 points). It takes a special kind of talent to play the scorecard like an accordion and still finish level with the course; it only serves to further reinforce his burgeoning "bandit" status.

  • Frank Johnson: A superb 37 points today saw the past Captain finish 3rd on the daily leaderboard, proving that his game is in fine shape for the summer ahead.

  • Jonathan Fletcher: The "Professor" was the picture of academic reliability, backing up his opening 33 with another steady 33 today to secure 3rd place overall.

  • Daley Smith & Jonathan Dickson: Both posted gritty 35s today, with the Captain particularly happy to avoid any "snowman" sightings after his tricky outing in the JD Penny.

Final Word

A fantastic start to the season's major competitions. Allister Wallace is a very deserving champion of the Prince’s Pot, proving that while big scores like Abercrombie's are wonderful for the "show," it is the steady accumulation over 36 holes that wins the silverware.

Well played, Allister!
