Princes Pot Round 2. Saturday May 4th. PGA Yellow Tee Stableford.

The PGA was a lot drier than it was for Round One but was still tricky, especially on the greens which were still very bumpy. Despite this the Round two scoring average was better than Round one, although not for everyone….

Best of the day were Alan Penman, who didn’t play in Round One, and Rob Simpson with 38 points. Rob set the target at 63 points. Johnny Dickson continued his good form scoring 36 points to tie Rob’s total and it was good to see Jim McLaughlin also playing to his handicap. David Mitchell then set a new target adding 35 to his first round of 31 to post 66 points.

This left only the last group, who had the best scores in round one, to come. Thomas McCulloch added 29 to his first round 34 to join the tie for second while Kevin Beattie and Ryan Longmuir shot 28 and 31 respectively to finish on a total of 62 and joint 5th. Also worth a mention were Paul Lewis and Tariq Ali who both finished with 61 points to come 7th.

Congratulations again to David, he is leading our Order of Merit alongside Alan Penman and already has two trophies to collect at the Dinner Dance.

The leading scores from today and the leading totals can be seen below and as usual all scores can be seen on the Scottish Golf website. Next up we have our Invitation Day which Daley is running so a week off for me :)
