Monthly Medal Kings White Tees Saturday April 27th.

A decent field of 37 took to the Kings this morning for our first outing from the White Tees this year. It would have been more but a few members had gone off to places that were too wet or too hot instead of staying here for the perfect golfing day we enjoyed. The course was also in great condition and with the new handicapping system giving us a few extra shots some good scores were expected……

First out of the blocks Rob Crockart showed us what was possible with an incredible gross 76, nett 63. A few groups back David Logie posted a gross 72. The winners were already known, or were they……

Christian Stewart was playing pretty well but lost his rangefinder on the 12th, undeterred he played the last 5 holes in two under gross, 8 under nett (beating Peter O’Malleys 7 under for the last 5 in the Scottish Open a few years back!) to score an incredible Gross 80, nett 60…..!!!!! and set a new target. Incredibly he made 6 nett eagles in his round.

A couple of groups behind Tony Moran came close to matching it with a Nett 62!!!. He didn’t win the nett but his Gross 68 was by far the best of the day finishing 4 shots ahead of David Logie and James Hardy. James’s nett 65 was only good enough for 4th!

Well done to Christian and Tony who can both look forward to significant handicap cuts.

Next up we have the 5 club challenge on Wednesday and the Final Round of the Princes Pot on Saturday plus matches against the Seniors Golfing Society on Thursday and Carnoustie on Sunday…. its going to be a busy week!
